This time for THE ANTIQUE WOODEN DOLL Re-creation in cloth....done as the wooden doll.....Fully painted to look like wood.

AND....For those who want to make a pretty doll (Cloth doll Looking), or dress a "doll" form, The Wooden Doll made in the way the Supplement Pattern shows, with the separate shoulderplate....This version is an embellishers and victorian costumers dream. (Second Picture Down on the Left.)

Title... THE ANTIQUE WOODEN DOLL
Re-creation in Cloth Challenge
Theme... Wooden Doll re-creation or Cloth Doll Look (Based on the supplement pattern)
Sponsors... Judi's Dolls and Doll Net Market/FOCD!
Categories: The challenge will be split into 2 categories..
1) Wooden Doll re-creation.. based on the main pattern (top left picture).
2) Cloth Doll Look... based on the supplement pattern (2nd picture down from the top left).
Within each category their will be 3 subcategories based on skill level...
Beginner...A Beginner has made one or a few cloth dolls, and has many techniques to master. Has not sold dolls, but does give them as gifts.
Intermediate...An Intermediate dollmaker has many more skills under their belt, needs work in perhaps a few areas, an has possibly sold a few dolls. Often gives dolls as gifts.
Advanced....An Advanced dollmaker has made many cloth dolls, perhaps sells many and also usually also designs. Almost all skills that they need are mastered, and any new skills are easy to master.
Winners/Prizes... The People's Choice - Based on Online Voting will be awarded for the top choice in each of the skill levels for each category!

Rules...
Make a doll based on the "Wooden Doll Reproduction in Cloth" pattern and/or a doll based on the "Supplement - Cloth Doll Looking) Pattern.
Number of Entries: A maximum of 1 entry per category per dollmaker is allowed. So you can enter 2 dolls... 1 for the Wooden Repro category and one for the Cloth Looking Version category.
HOW to ENTER:
Send a short note along with your e-mail address to us letting us know you will be making a doll. This way we can contact you with any updates. Next Make your doll! Have fun and be as creative as you wish!
DUE Date Is September 15:
On or before September 15th participants need to send 3 photos of their entry and include a Doll Name (Title) and up to 50 word description or story to go with their doll, the dollmaker's Full Name and Address (e-mail and snail mail). Participants should ID which Category the dolls is being entered in and also which Skill Level they feel they belong. (Please note that the sponsors have
final decision as to which skill level a dollmaker belongs.)
The Entered Pictures will be posted on web without the dollmakers name for a period of 15 days. During this time visitors will be able to vote for their favorite doll and Judges will select winners for the different categories.
Winners will be announced Late September!
